If you are looking around for a fabulous Indian Restaurant in Mahon, the only one there is the the Rainbow and the Taj. We went to the Taj last year and really enjoyed it. The only draw back for the Taj , it is a bit way out, on a hill. The Rainbow is slam central in Mahon. Its right at the end of the Harbour, and serves the most fabulous authentic Indian Dishes. The Drinks are cold, and the Service is unbelivably brilliant.
We have go to know the owners really well now, and they always give us a drink on the house before we leave. Their restaurant is always busy. Never quiet! My last words - GO THERE!!!!!!!! YOU will not regret it!!!!

We knew the people who own Rainbow Spice when they worked at the Taj,but it wasn't until last week we dined there. We always go to The Taj 2 or 3 times on a weeks holiday,we went the10th sept and I'am afraid it wasn't up tp scratch and a bit dissapointing,as indian meals always seem to be more expensive abroad. So 2 /3 nights later decided to go to Rainbow Spice, the staff remebered us from the Taj which was very welcoming.
The food was excellent and faultless, only draw back is the parking. if you manage to find a spot there is no charge and no limit in the evening, but prior to 8.30 in the evening there is a 2 hour limit. But check first.

So The Taj loss is Rainbow Spices gain.Unless we are unable to park. Maryb

What a fantastic change to have a gorgeous indian meal in the harbour at Mahon. We had a very warm welcome not like some Spanish restaurants who tend to look after their own! The meat quality was top notch, as was the whole dining experience, well done Hossan keep it up and we will see you next year.
Great Food

New Indian restauant near the ferry terminal on the harbour in Mahon. Put's the other indian restaurant TheTaj to shame (food there was inedible).

Excellent food, the prawn puree was fab.

Staff really nice - good view of harbour.

Watch out if you park your car directly outside we had our windcreen cracked with a stone (we think by kids throwing it from above)

We moved to Menorca 2yrs ago, and have tried all of the Indian restaurants here. Only to discover we could actually do a better job of it ourselves. Then in June 2009, Rainbow Spice opened!!.......YEAH!!!!!!!........... It is set on the beautiful port of Mahon, with tables inside and out. The guys who run it are fantastic, very helpful and make time for every person who walks through the door. Every item on the menu is fantastic, believe me we visit at least once a week so we have been through the whole menu!. They offer a fixed price menu of the day & night. But there prices are just as good as the food, so no need to limit yourself. The restaurant is glass fronted, so no matter where you sit, you have a good view of the port. On 1 of our visits my bf asked if i could have 1 of the lollipops they usually give to the children, and now whenever we ask for the bill, there is always a lolly inside the box. They also offer a full take-away menu. So if you ever happen to be on the port in Mahon and find yourself in the mood for a curry, do no hesitate this is definately the best Indian restaurant in Menorca!!..........We will be making our weekly visit there about 8pm tonight.

Authentic Indian cuisine with great flavours

Recently I had the pleasure to dine at Rainbow spice a new restaurant here in Menorca On arriving the staff were really friendly & helpful with seating & explaining the vast & varied dishes that are on offer from there menu. The food on offer was served piping hot along with fantastic tandoori breads from the oven they have on the premises, overall cost was really good for Menorca especially as seating was looking over the port with great views. Would highly recommend this delightful new restaurant to all meat & veg curry lovers.
